“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Dr. Wayne Dyer

This statement is easily one of the most powerful statements I have ever heard. Dr. Dyer was a huge part of my transformational healing back in 2005. Specifically his books, “Power of Intention” and “Getting in the Gap” helped shape my mindset around health and healing.

This is where I was first exposed to meditation and importance of clearing out space in my mind. Space allows the brain and nervous system an opportunity to see our environments more clearly and respond more accurately.

In that space, LIFE inherently heals more optimally.

If you cut your hand, immediately your immune system responds to the trauma and begins to heal the tissue.

If you cut the hand of a corpse, what happens?

Nothing.

It is literally LIFE itself that heals.

  • Every 4 weeks your body regenerates each liver cell.
  • Every 5 days you get a new stomach lining.
  • Every 11 days, new taste buds!

2 half cells come together and 9 months later, nature gives us a 26 billion cell being!

We all make it onto the planet the same way…

After interviewing 100s of moms in our practice, not one had to consciously make their baby… Life does this all on its own.

DO NOT JUST GLOSS OVER THIS.

The one egg that specific month and 1 out of 100,000 sperm… the odds on being born are simply miraculous.

Sit and really think about the brilliance that resides in all of us and around us.

The knowing that your body is made to heal itself is a fundamental difference between the conventional medical perspective and traditional vitalistic healing practices.

Paradigm Comparison: Allopathy & Vitalism

One believes illnesses are programmed into your DNA.

While the other believes that healing is a trait inherent to all of nature – genes are a reflection of your environment.

On one side is luck and chance – it’s only a matter of time before your body fails.

On the other, health is a matter of choice and sovereignty – as long as you do what your genes ‘expect’ and remove the interferences to healing, your body heals itself from the inside out.

One perspective, conventional medicine, is roughly 100 years old.

While vitalistic healing is as old as time itself (some scientists say life on this planet is recorded back some 3.9 billion years).

One perspective dominates our ‘healthcare’ system has resulted our country ranking LAST in a recent study measuring health outcomes, cost, etc.

This isn’t new.

By any means.

While I show the two perspectives side by side above, these two sides are not mutually exclusive. There is a time and place for both. As I’ve told many of you, medicine has saved my life 3 times in my life and I am forever grateful.

This isn’t medical bashing, this is simply laying out a view of health care that is more empowering than the divisive nature of being pro or anti anything.

If you have an emergency like a severed finger or a heart attack, go to the ER – EVERY TIME.

But once they have saved your finger, you better believe that chiropractic adjustments, nutrition and other natural healthcare practices help your body heal more effectively – EVERY TIME.

Creating mindset of Health & Healing

We’ve allowed the conventional medical paradigm to take over the whole of health care. We don’t realize we are only one of two countries that allow direct to consumer advertising by the pharmaceutical companies. Because they are so ubiquitous, we don’t even realize that on average Americans see up to 30 hours of drug commercials per year.

If you are reading this blog, this is a mere drop in the bucket to balance out the calculated Big Pharma programming.

But why?

Why is this important?

In the context of the quote at the very beginning of this post, if you change the way you look at health and healing, your health and healing will completely CHANGE for the better.

MINDSET is easily the most important factor in self-healing. Own this as fact.

Each species has a genetic expectation unique to each species.

So a Giraffe should do and eat what is necessary for a giraffe.

Same with a gorilla.

Same with my cats, Maya and Marshmallow 🙂

And believe it or not, the SAME as us… this Paleo/Primal movement is one of the best things to ever happen to our species because it is reminding us that modern humans are still animals.

One of the most damaging belief systems we have ever instilled is that we are NOT ANIMALS.

So last month, we talked a lot about Innate Movement and through that lens, our bodies NEED to move the way humans have always needed to move. The month prior we talked about Real Food and as a society, we are regaining the worldview that focuses on how powerful what we eat is for both health and disease.

One of the things we cover in our Connecting in Disconnected World class is that we are totally deficient in some aspects of how we build relationships, tribes and communities. Essential components of life like Gratitude and Appreciation are being replaced with Chronic Stress and NOT using vacation time.

The point of this… like we have said before on this blog, our bodies ability to heal is far greater we have been led to believe.

Your decision to be a part of our practice, to read this blog, to change you beliefs about health and healing are a change in trajectory so massively important for the future health of your family tree and the future of our species…

Be proud of yourself for that… know that this blog and many other resources like my inspirations like Drs. Mercola, Axe or Brogan. (Ahem, Dr. Kelly Brogan is easily my biggest hero regarding Women’s Health – her book is an ESSENTIAL READ)

In the end, THANK YOU for reading this and for shifting the trajectory of your family’s health for good.

Principle:

  • Your worldview of health and healing has the largest influence on your health outcomes.
  • Self-care is about the highest expression of your health.
  • Remember, we are animals… there are certain things that we inherently and genetically need to survive and thrive.

Aligned Action:

  1. Learn as much as you possibly can about how amazing the healing capacity within your body is.
  2. Read Kelly Brogan’s book… hint: you don’t HAVE to be a woman – this is essential reading for the future of our species.
