VLOG

Tomorrow is 37 weeks, and we can formally have a baby at home. It’s funny what these laws do to human birth.

No one tells a lion family in the zoo that they can’t have a baby at a particular time with a particular birth provider in whatever settings. It’s just another example of how humans have been duped. We’ve been made to believe that we are not part of biology.

If you go on to any higher education campus and you go into the biological major scientific buildings, they are in a different part of the campus than the human biology, and that’s on purpose. It is one of the first psychological operations that they put on us as humans.

When fish got cancer because the Great Lakes were polluted in the early 1900s, there were no purple ribbon races to raise funds for the fish. They simply cleaned up the lakes, and here we are 16 years into the life span of future generations.

We humans only continue to create more toxicity in our world, knowing full well that it harms our children, especially our newborn babies.

That seems not very bright of a way to celebrate being full term 😊

Pregnant Victoria

It’s awesome. I love this time, and it’s because it is one of the most real-time moments where I physically cannot continue the way that I have been. I was taught very early in my career to never destabilize a full-term mom, and every pregnancy so far has been a moment in time where I physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually make a conscious shift towards safeguarding the energy, emotional state, mental resiliency, and physical health of my wife.

It’s crazy to think that there are phases of my life where it’s acceptable that I don’t do that, but mostly at this stage it’s about boundaries and being able to protect her in the best possible way so that she can have the best opportunity to birth our child in the most optimal environment.

What are the things that we’re doing?

– We are finalizing our decision on a mother’s helper.

– We are finalizing interviews for an associate doctor.

– We have set up set up coverage for the paternity leave schedule.

We have my parents coming in town on the 24th and staying for at least a month, depending on when the baby comes. We have a meal service set up for the postpartum time. Tomorrow we have our home visit and birth walkthrough with our midwife.

This is a small list of the many things that we are navigating, and my purest intent is that we create something that I don’t really hear in the birth world, but we are creating margin and capacity. Margin and capacity, from a business standpoint, is profit when it comes to money, time freedom, and energy freedom when it comes to time and energy.

Love

One of the fun things that we bought recently was a kiddie pool that’s the size for adults. This Escondido heat is something else when compared to where we used to live in central San Diego, along the coast, but it is astronomical for a full-term mom. For those of you who have traversed that, I salute you.

In the end, we are more blessed than ever. We are excited beyond measure, and we have so many fun things planned for you guys while we’re out.

Stay tuned for the next newsletter to highlight:

– Working with the best nutrition company in the world

– Having very qualified and aligned cover doctors

– Setting up a free photo shoot for families who want to share their story about the miraculous work we have done together

– Perhaps even an ice cream social day for all of you while I’m out

The difference between this phase of our lives and previous ones is that, in previous ones, we’ve just put everything on my back, and it’s just a GSD mentality, right? Get stuff done mentality. Each postpartum has stretched me in ways that have made me a great father, a better man, and, in some respects, an even better chiropractor and doctor.

Something that we talked about, my wife and I, was how that just isn’t going to be the way it is this time around. My over-functioning, my burnout, is not a natural consequence of paternity leave. The people that we have on our team, in our circle, supporting us have one mission: to support our family, especially my wife and our new baby, our children, but it especially includes me.

Baby Bump Smile

It seems like a small shift, but it is one of the biggest ones. I’m so grateful to have mentors and coaches and guides that have helped me realize what I teach you all: that so many of you all are chronic givers. You give to others in such a powerful way that it makes your world so absolutely lovely, and giving to yourself, being a low priority or sometimes not a priority, is unsustainable at best but totally detrimental at worst. I’m excited to live that principle in real time with you, and I’m grateful to have people in our community who see that value that and are going to support us with that in mind.

We are excited and so much more. Thank you guys for your love and support, and stay tuned.

Love and appreciate you all⚡❤️🔥
