As we move into the new year, it is very common place in the Hom household to reflect and reconcile the year prior so that we can process and integrate, giving us the best opportunity to create the next year. This has been one of the single most transformative years for our family.
As most of you know, we have been a multiple doctor practice for about 3 1/2 years. So starting the new year as the only chiropractor at Future Generations is a massive change for all of us.
If this is your first time hearing about it, please read the email we sent out last weekend at this link. We heard that many of you had the email go to spam and we also know how big of an impact this change has had on all of us.
Especially you and your kids. Dr. Ryan has been an FG favorite for over three years. He’s already dearly missed.
This past New Year’s Day, my wife and I were having a really intentional and deep conversation about our completing, remembering, and creating document. It is a process that I have been doing since 2016 and it is a series of questions that has helped us really reconcile the last year so we are best able to create and attract an optimal version of the coming year.
I wanted to share with you two questions from the 2024 portion of the document, and two questions from 2025.
What was your biggest triumph in 2024?
The biggest triumph that I had this year was completing the year with a few miracles. Over the last two years, my wife and I have really done so much work on ourselves with our amazing life coach and former patient who has since moved to Texas, Hannah Abad.
And when I say a lot of work, we have been digging deep into trauma we experienced since Covid and remarkable generational trauma that we’ve inherited. And we ended the year having two really intentional and transformative conversations with my mother-in-law and my sister.
And without getting into too many details, although I’m happy to share in person, we just closed out the year with our family having the best holiday and Christmas season we’ve had in the three years we’ve been in Escondido.
This time of year has been a primary source of some of the most painful and frustrating memories for the previous two years. Not this year. My wife has really tackled some courageous aspects of her healing and frankly so have I as a result of that. We realized that we were just having “holiday stress” this year.
I cannot tell you the massive victory it was for us.
What was the smartest decision you made in 2024?
The smartest decision that I made in 2024 was to attend 2 Tony Robbins events. The first was called Unleashing the Power Within, and the second, Date with Destiny. Another former patient who also moved to Texas gifted both of these programs to me.
Over the past 20 years, I have invested so much in my own personal development and have experienced some of the top programs in the world, but these two by far were the best.
With UPW, Tony really helped attendees realize the INNATE POWER we all have resting inside of us. He helped identify limiting beliefs but maybe most importantly created a visualization around our lives if we kept those limiting beliefs five, 10, 20 years in the future.
This was so incredibly powerful because we often don’t allow ourselves to think about that. What would happen to our lives if we don’t change? I won’t share the details of what I visualize, but it was powerful enough for me to draw a line in the sand and recognize that there were certain things that I would not tolerate for myself anymore.
With DWD, this is the most thorough and vast deep dive I have ever done into the inner operating system of my consciousness. There were so many aspects of the visit that could take up an entire podcast interview, or the entirety of this blog.
But part of our homework was a process called “effective blaming”. While we live in a world where we try to mitigate or at least limit “blame, shame, or guilt”, Tony has a different perspective. He says if we’re going to blame (which is inevitable), we should blame people for not just the “bad things that they did to us” but also for the miraculous and sometimes really providential things that resulted BECAUSE of it.
This process alone is what fueled my conversation with my sister. I’ve blamed my sister for my parents leaving San Diego, which was a turning point for my family’s mental and emotional well-being. But had they never left, we would not have sought out the help we truly needed to heal, not just from them leaving, but from the root causes of the pain that their leaving revealed.
Does that make sense?
And this alone afforded us an opportunity to really celebrate our whole family this Christmas season.
Who or what, other than yourself or your family, are you most committed to loving and serving in 2025?
First and foremost, this amazing community we have around our practice. Escondido is my children’s hometown. And the greater North County San Diego area. This is by far the single most important commitment I have when it comes to the loving service that I am devoted to providing.
Being a chiropractor isn’t just a job to me.
Being a chiropractor, especially one with the expertise and the training that I have in terms of leading whole families to true neurological ROOT CAUSE healing, is literally my mission and dream come true.
It isn’t just about telling the truth. It’s about our community realizing the truth about themselves and their children, and our collective Future Generations.
You, mom and dad, are miracles.
And so are your kids, and mine.
And I will spend the rest of my life inspiring you all to remember and uncover more and more of that so long as you will allow us to.
Thank you for allowing me to share some of this with you. I cannot tell you how important it is to me. From my family to yours and from the whole FG team, we wish you the very best 2025 and are so grateful that you choose us as a key part of your optimal health and healing.
Love and appreciate you all. ♥️
