When you walk into Future Generations our door mat reads “Expect Miracles.”   A few months back in one of the blogs I wrote, Because Chiropractic, I discussed some of the things I had seen in my first 9 months at Future Generations.  I have tacked on another 7 months since that blog and have only witnessed more miracles in our practice.  Other chiropractors WISH they had these stories.  We get to see them every day.  We get to hear about them from the patients themselves.  We get to hear about them from the patients’ families.  All of them are incredible.  In the chiropractic world, getting someone out of pain is easy.  You could even say it is known as the profession’s “bread and butter.”

Chiropractic is so much more than pain though.

I will say it again…I have worked in 7 different offices in the last 11 years, and I have never seen anything like what I see everyday at Future Generations.

We expect miracles because we know what the body can do.  We know a fully-functioning nervous system is what every body needs.  An optimally running system means a body can do what it is supposed to do.  I am going to highlight a few of the miracles I have had the pleasure of witnessing over the last year and a half.  Honestly, it is hard to pick which to write about.  Some miracles get shared in our videos, while others get forgotten because they happen so often.  The two I am going to share are not unique because of their results, but they are unique because of their parents’ commitment to getting the care their children needed.

Our practice is moving to Escondido in just a few short weeks.  Some of you already travel 30+ minutes to come see us at our current location.  From our current location to our new location is another 30-45 minutes.  That is far for a lot of you.  We know that.  The response from the patients so far who are going to be following us has surpassed our expectations.  Unfortunately, we know a lot of you will not be able to continue with us due to distance/schedules/etc…we are going to figure something out though…promise!

OK…all that being said, here we go…

This first family I’m going to share found us on social media right as I was starting to work at Future Generations…almost a year and a half ago or so.  We currently see the whole family, but they were initially interested in us seeing their daughter.  If you follow our Instagrams, you no doubt have heard about this girl.  She was 3 years old when she came to us.  She was nonverbal, did not do well in crowds (crippling social anxiety), rarely smiled, minimal eye contact, did not acknowledge her brother, oppositional behavior, and may or may not have had an ASD diagnosis.  I have a special relationship with her, as we started at the same time.

Initially, we saw her daily for 2-3 weeks.  Yes, that means she got adjusted every day.  After that, we saw her three times a week for the next 4-5 months.  We saw dramatic changes during that time and continue to see dramatic changes even now.  She has continued with us after her initial phase of care into wellness/protection at 1 time a week for roughly a year.  Since then, everyone in the office will tell you that she is an absolutely different girl.  She has an incredible smile, can count to 100, knows all of her colors, and animals.  The biggest change, however, is that she has zero problems in crowds now.  Her mom describes her as “a completely different kid.”  They are able to take her out into public no problem, and even took her to a family wedding last year.  There, the entire family noticed how different she was, and how well she was behaving…they could not believe it, and they could not believe that it was because of CHIROPRACTIC.  Even in the last 6 weeks, she has become even more comfortable in our office.  She routinely jumps up on the table to get adjusted, which never happened before.  She also has been known to give out hugs to the entire staff before she leaves.  Now, what is so crazy about this story?

They live in GARDENA.  As in next to LAX.  As in a 200 mile round trip.

This family not only invested financially with us, but even more so, they invested time.  Have you ever tried driving to LA in the middle of the day?  I do not recommend it.  Because of the faith and trust this family had in Future Generations, they committed, and have continued to commit to what is best for their family.  Where would she have been without our intervention in a year?  5 years?  10 years?  Who knows?  We know hers and the family’s life are exponentially better after finding us.

I cannot help but smile thinking about her story.

The next family is very similar.  She is a 5 year old girl  who is nonverbal, has poor coordination, is combative, has drooling issues, amongst other severe delays.  They also found us on social media.  The difference between this family and the first, is that they live in…

NEW YORK!

We offered to find them the best pediatric chiropractor we could who was close to them, and they would not have any of it.  They only wanted to see us.

The entire family flew out to San Diego just to see us.  That is WILD to me.  It is WILD to all of us.  Mom, dad, and daughter all got exams, but they were here for their daughter.  Mom and daughter stayed for the next 5 weeks in Solana Beach.  Dad left after we went over our initial findings with the family.

We saw this beautiful girl TWICE a day the entire time they were here.  It was basically a chiropractic intensive to see how much we could accomplish in that timeframe.  I bet you can guess, but we accomplished A TON.  Upon leaving, she was significantly calmer, less combative, more engaging, happier, had basically stopped drooling, and coordination had gone through the roof.  Her mom showed us videos of her going up and down stairs unassisted for the first time EVER!.  She was still nonverbal, but boy could she communicate.  She had no problems listening to us, her mom (two languages), playing with other kids in the practice, and getting her point across of what she wanted to do (or who was getting adjusted first).

Her mom’s certainty may have been more than ours.  She knew what was going to happen before it did.  She told me her daughter was going to be a “miracle.”  Her belief in us is something I have never experienced before.  My eyes are welling up thinking about it.  Her belief in her daughter was  even greater and so powerful.

They are coming back in the fall for more care, and we cannot wait to see them.

These are two examples of miracles we get to see in our office.  These are unique in the sense that they traveled great distances to be with us.  Now we know, it is not going to be feasible for all of our patients to follow us to Escondido, but we would love you to at least try and do whatever you can.  Maybe you come to us once a quarter for scans while getting adjusted elsewhere.  Maybe you come once a year for x-rays.  Maybe you come once a month.  Maybe we are open a couple Saturdays a month so that you can stay part of our community.  We are trying to figure out what is going to work best for our patients and our beautiful new space.

If not, we are going to set you up with the best docs, behind us of course, to provide you with the care that is needed.

Until then, we have 4 weeks of delivering the best adjustments in San Diego at 3355 4th Avenue.
