When December rolls around, I’m always thinking about all of the amazing things that we have been blessed with over the year. This morning a bunch of our kids in the practice asked me what I was grateful for. I said pretty spontaneously our home, my wife and children, and Home Depot of all things.

One of the things that decided to break down over the holiday was our stove and just a couple years ago I would’ve been completely stumped on what to do about that. That might seem consequential to a lot of people, but to me it is one of the biggest things about my level of troubleshooting around homeownership.

From irrigation to minor plumbing, appliances, etc., I’m really grateful for this transformation over the last two and half years of being in this home.

I remember the first time I changed my oil, it was actually the last time I changed my oil, but I still got it done.

And I remember my dad asking me, “Why would you do that?”.

It is absolutely remarkable the things that we are conditioned to be, do, and have in our lives.

Two weekends ago I got to participate in a seminar that I have spent the majority of my adult life really curious about. Tony Robbins’ “Unleashing the Power Within” was gifted to me by an amazing patient who moved from Escondido to Texas.

When my wife and I went on our first “date night” a few weeks ago, it started at, of all places, the DMV. As you can imagine, it was a really “uplifting experience” and as I was sitting there being super excited about paying for my car registration, being helped by a very, very inspired “government employee”, I got a text from this patient.

“Yo Doc!

Happy Friday

I have an extra virtual ticket to UPW November

How is the practice?? Ready to relocate to Texas??”

No, we aren’t relocating to Texas, but I was thinking how incredible it would be to do an event like this.

Among the four days, I was only able to participate in about 60-70% of it, but what I did participate in was absolutely transformative. And I recommended it to anyone that is highly considering it as an event our team gets to virtually participate in next year.

The thing that inspired me most was the fact that Tony has this incredible ability to reveal your limiting beliefs. And then something that I really appreciated was his ability to leverage pain.

That might sound counterintuitive, but I’ve been thinking about this for a couple years. I think in our addiction to comfort and our conditioning to always be able to “set our thermostat” and customize our ecosystem moving from one box (our homes) to another (perhaps our offices or our children at school), we forget how important uncomfortability is.

Because we avoid discomfort and pain so much, and we have a medical system that makes so much money by sedating and numbing our senses, we miss out on something really important.

I identified three limiting beliefs during the program, and one after my son had a pretty major head injury.

Tony had this incredible process of feeling the pain of those beliefs and how they have affected me in my life for years, if not longer. But also how much they have affected my family, my wife and children, and beyond.

And then he did this remarkable thing where he had us visualize these beliefs five, 10, 20 and 30 years into the future.

Now, why do I care so much about telling you about this?

Because we have this thing in our practice called “Chiropractic amnesia” where we start to feel “better,” and then we forget where we came from. We forget about the trajectory that our life was on and the direction our family tree was moving in.

Then receiving the care that we provide supports a trajectory change, and we begin to heal. In the process of healing, we begin to experience a more optimal expression of our nervous system potential. And in that process of a more optimal expression, we forget about that long-term trajectory.

Because we know where it goes in the conventional healthcare system.

We know that 80% of adults have a chronic illness, and 55% of them have two, and 20% have three. And most of us may or may not be aware that this is the data.

When we talk about children, we have one in six that has a neurodevelopmental neural behavioral disorder, one in eight with an anxiety disorder, and in the United States one in four that requires special education.

And this is old data.

When I speak to audiences, virtually and in our community, everyone agrees that it is far worse now than when these numbers came out.

So by mere statistics, we know where virtually everyone’s family tree is heading. For most patients in our practice, we see a complete resolution of their chronic health challenges. And while my team and I stop to think about the miraculous nature of those results both in real time and in our “future generations,” I don’t think we do a good enough job reminding our patients.

I came out of that conference fully inspired in a way that I had never been before. And this is having invested in my own professional and personal growth to the order of multiple six figures in my entire adult life.

And this was one major factor of that.

Because I won’t do that to my children and their children. I will not tolerate my own limiting beliefs any longer, because I know now where the trajectory of my family was going had I not reconciled all of this.

And I invite you to do the same.

I invite you to consider the trajectory of your life before coming to FG and considering what is possible when your health does what you are designed to do – more optimally adapt, be resilient and more vibrant year after year.

Consider what I would do for you.

Consider what I would do for your spouse and children.

After hearing about so many of your elderly family members struggling, I invite you to consider what it would be like for you to continually be supportive and uplifting and energized in service to your Future Generations.

And if your children are the only ones in our practice, I salute you. You are making the biggest transformation possible in ways that you could only dream about for your family.

Below is a document that my wife and I have done together for years. It is called the remembering and creating process where we look at the past year and go through a series of questions to process and integrate optimally. Then look at the year ahead and get very inspired and creative on what’s possible!

Completing, Creating, & Remembering Document.

Love and appreciate you all. ♥️
